The pictures on this page show one of our custom powdercoat paint jobs. We often refinish motorcycles, and it is always nice to see the finished porduct. This job was exceptional. The powder used here is an amazing example of the special effects that can be produced with powdercoat paints. Truly the pictures here cannot do this job justice. The colors change as you move around the parts and the best way to view them is in direct sunlight. If you like these pictures come visit us in person, we can show you some examples of pieces done with this impressive powdercoat paint.
As you can see the tank and fenders came to us with the factory paint job. Powder coating generally cannot be applied over an existing paint. So we used abrasive (sand) blasting to remove the old paint from the parts. This leaves the metal surface with a good profile for powdercoat adherance. In the picture to the right the parts are hung prior to powder application. | ![]() |
The powdercoat paint used on this job (named Aurora Borealis) is incredible. The collage below shows three pictures of the application process. As you can see this powdercoat paint lives up to the name.

The powder contains small particles of metal. These give it the prismatic effect, and can be seen here sparkling as they move through the air.
| After the coat of special effects powder is applied, the parts are cured in the oven. The parts have a very rough finish at this point and are further covered with a clear coat powdercoat paint. This brings up the gloss and makes the finish even more durable. In the second picture to the left you can see the clear coat as it goes on white. It bakes in the oven and becomes transparent. |
The final pictures here show the finished product. This is truly an awesome example of the effects available with powdercoat paint technology. These paints are beautiful, more durable than traditional paints, and environmentally friendly. Hundreds of colors and special effects are available. Please call us or come visit. We would love to give your bike one of the nicest finishes on the road. | ![]() |
